We pleased to inform you that the Malaysian government has announced the extension of its visa exemption program for Indian nationals until December 31, 2026. This initiative, as stated by Home Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Awang Alik Jeman, is part of Malaysia’s preparations for its 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship and Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

The program also includes a similar extension for Chinese nationals, with the exemptions effective until the same date. Introduced as part of a visa liberalisation plan on December 1, 2023, this initiative aims to boost Malaysia’s economic and tourism sectors while ensuring national security.

Datuk Awang Alik Jeman emphasised that the 30-day visa exemption for nationals of India and China is designed to enhance Malaysia’s appeal as a travel destination while maintaining a strong focus on the safety and security of the nation.
