Sri Lanka Introduces Visa-Free Entry for 35 Countries, Including India, UK, and US

Sri Lanka has announced a significant policy shift, offering visa-free entry to citizens of 35 countries starting October 1, 2024. This initiative, aimed at boosting tourism and enhancing international relations, allows travelers from eligible countries to enter Sri Lanka without the need to obtain a visa in advance. Among the countries benefiting from this policy are India, the UK, and the US.

Visa-Free Entry Details:

Visa-Free Travel: Citizens of eligible countries can now travel to Sri Lanka without applying for a visa beforehand. Upon arrival, they will go through standard immigration procedures and be granted a tourist visa.
Passport Requirements: Travelers must ensure that their passports are valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay in Sri Lanka.
No Pre-Arrival Visa Needed: There is no need to apply for a visa prior to your trip. Immigration formalities will be completed upon arrival at a Sri Lankan airport.
Tourist Visa on Arrival: After going through immigration procedures, travelers will be granted a tourist visa, allowing them to explore Sri Lanka for the duration of their stay.
