We hope this message finds you well. We'd like to bring to your attention some crucial updates regarding the jurisdictional requirements for appointments at the Austrian Embassy in India, effective from 23rd February 2024.

NORTH JURISDICTION – Residents of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh are advised to submit their applications exclusively at Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Jaipur, and Lucknow VFS centers.

DELHI & NCR Jurisdiction – Individuals residing in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Haryana are requested to file their applications at either the New Delhi or Gurgaon VFS center only.

WEST JURISDICTION – Residents of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli should submit their applications solely at Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Goa VFS centers.

SOUTH JURISDICTION – Residents of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep are advised to submit their applications only at Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Puducherry VFS centers.

EAST JURISDICTION – Residents of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Orissa, Tripura, Sikkim, and West Bengal are required to submit their applications at Kolkata VFS center exclusively.

It's essential to note that the place of issue of a passport or the permanent resident mentioned in the passport determines the jurisdiction.

Applicants may have their applications accepted at a different jurisdiction if they can provide sufficient proof of residency in the current jurisdiction for the last 6 months. However, this is subject to approval by VFS.

NOTE: Any appointments made out of jurisdiction must be canceled, and new appointments must be scheduled according to the correct jurisdiction to avoid inconvenience during submission.
