In anticipation of heavy rainfall predicted as a result of Cyclone Michaung, the Tamil Nadu government has taken precautionary measures by declaring a public holiday for schools, government offices, and private offices in the districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet.

Citizens are advised to stay indoors and not venture out on 4 December 2023.
